Home remedies for Dark Circles

Dark circles under eyes may happen due to several factors like- lack of sleep, stress, fatigue, deficiency of vitamins and minerals within the body and many more. Under eye circles can be removed by applying some of the following techniques-

1. Peeled and grated potato is excellent. Apply it overnight for 2-3 times a week.

2. Massage with almond oil under and around the eyes is a helpful method of giving good result. Do it daily at bed time for 2 weeks. You will surely see the improvement.

3. Grate a cucumber, squeeze it to take out its juice and refrigerate. Make a mixture of lemon juice, cucumber juice with lanolin cream. Apply the mixture around your eyes for 10-15 minutes.

Apart from applying the above techniques it’s also required to eat plenty of green vegetables and fruits. Drink at least 8 glasses of water regularly and also grow a habit of going early to bed.

How to prepare homemade toothpaste and mouthwash?

Following is a homemade remedy of making toothpaste:

First of all collect the following ingredients-

1. Bicarbonate of Soda
2. Glycerine
3. Salt
4. water
5. Peppermint oil

First mix 3 parts of Bicarbonate of Soda with one part of salt. Then add 3 tsp of glycerine with every ¼ cup of this mixture. Then add plenty of water to it to make a thick paste. Finally add few drops of Peppermint oil for better taste.


Preparing baking soda Mouthwash:

Mix two ounces of water, ¼ teaspoon of baking soda or sea salt, 1 drop pure peppermint oil and 1 drop tea tree oil. This is a great mouthwash with nice refreshing minty taste in your mouth which helps to prevent bad breath.


Preparation of Fennel Fresh Mouthwash:

First pour brandy or vodka into a 100 ml. glass bottle. Then carefully add essential oil with it. Shake the bottle vigorously to dissolve the oil. Your mouthwash is ready for use. Before using it add 2 to 3 tsp of mouthwash into a half small glass of warm water and stir well.

Skin care tips with Olive oil


The inexpensive olive oil is healthy and wonderful for cooking and also useful for keeping skin beautiful.

Following are some skincare tips with olive oil-
1. For dry skin make a paste with egg yolk, olive oil and lemon juice. Apply the paste on your face and neck. Rinse well after 10 minutes.

2. Apply a mixture of honey, olive oil, basin and milk. Use the mixture as a face pack.

3. Make facial also with olive oil- First beat an egg yoke with a fork, add olive oil and blend well. Add honey using a teaspoon. Mix them well and smear it all over your face with the help of your fingers, except do not cover your eyes. Leave it for 15 minutes and rinse well.

4. A mixture of ½ cup olive oil, ¼ cup vinegar & ¼ cup water used as night cream is quite helpful for making skin glow. The olive oil softens and moisturizes and the vinegar lightens discolorations, kills bacteria and loosens dead skin cells. Splash water on your face before applying.

5. Use olive oil on your feet with clean white cotton. It makes your feet soften.

6. Use olive oil for your hair. Not only does it condition, but it also gets rid of the frizz. Put a small drop into your palm & then rub both hands together & apply it to dry hair.

Skin Care with Honey

1. Cucumber- Honey Toner-
Puree 1 cucumber in a blender and drain away the liquid. Add 2 tsp. of honey with it and mix well. Apply it on face and neck with cotton pad. Leave it for some time and then rinse well.

2. Mix oats with honey, yogurt and ground almonds. Apply this on your face, leave it for five minutes and wash with lukewarm water.

3. Mix honey with lemon and vegetable oil. It’s a good moisturizer for dry skin. Apply this musk for 10 minutes.

4. To get a glowing face mix honey with milk and apply the mixture on your face.

5. You can also make a good cleanser by mixing honey with 1 tsp. of liquid soap and ½ cup glycerin. Apply gently onto face using a face sponge. Rinse well with warm water and pat face dry.

6. Add ¼ cup of honey to your hot water bath for silky and lustrous skin.
