Nutrients necessary for Cancer patients


There are several nutrients which could be found effective in killing cancer cells in direct or indirect ways-

1. Alpha carotene/beta carotene/vitamin E- Raw carrots are the rich sources where you can get all these nutrients.

2. Sulforaphanes/isothiocyanates- Raw Broccoli from where you could get these nutrients.

3. Saponins- It could be found from Green Asparagus

4. Isothiocyanates- Raw Cabbages are the great source.

5. PAC's or OPC's- Beetroot and red beets are the sources.

6. Curcumin- Extracted from the spice called Turmeric.


Experts say that a healthy diet can reduce the risk of cancer. High intake of fruits and vegetables in regular diet shows better results. Spinach, oranges, yellow colored fruits and vegetables like carrots are very much protective against lung and colon cancer. Tomatoes are found quite effective in protecting prostate cancer.

Garlic and Onion are also significantly associated with a reduction in the risk of certain cancers particularly gastric and colorectal cancer. These vegetables contain a class of sulphur containing substances such as allium which possess a range of cancer fighting mechanisms including the ability to protect against DNA and chromosomal damage, potent antioxidant activity as well as the ability to detoxify or deactivate carcinogens (cancer-causing substances) by acting on certain enzymes involved with their metabolism

Among fruits apples, grapes, lemons, pineapples are helpful in dipping the risks of cancer.

Turmeric, the main ingredient in curry, is rich in the phytochemical curcumin which has been shown to possess a wide range of protective mechanisms, specifically in regards to cancer protection; an effect which has been observed in preliminary population studies. Curcumin may protect against various diseases such as cancer due its anti-inflammatory, anti-angiogenic and antioxidant mechanisms.

Alzheimer’s disease and it’s natural remedies

Alzheimer’s is the most common form of dementia. Alzheimer’s the progressive disorder’s is a devastating disease characterized by progressive memory loss, cognitive decline and behavioral disturbances. It destroys the memory of an individual, language as well as even the simple and logical thoughts. Following are some natural remedies for treating or preventing the disease-

1. Adequate percentage of vegetables and fruit juices should be taken as they’re antioxidant in nature.

Nutritional values of Grapes

Grapes, the fruit which is commonly used for making juice, jelly, wine, raisins or can also be eaten raw. This is a small berry like fruit with thin edible skin and a translucent green or red flesh. Grapes are generally seedless or hardly can have 1-2 seeds.

The nutritional values of grapes are great! They’re an excellent source of vitamin C with dietary fibre. A single serving of grapes offers you 176 millions of potassium and 13 milligrams of calcium. A portion of grapes also provide you with 9 milligrams of phosphorus. Magnesium is also present in grapes, with a cup of grapes containing 4.6mg. Zinc, manganese and copper are also present in small amounts in grapes. Red grapes contain a compound known as resveratol which is very helpful for reducing cholesterol, hence it protects heart.

Grapes also have good quantities of Vitamin B complex. Like Vitamin B6, Vitamin B2 or riboflavin, niacin or Vitamin B3, pantothenic acid or Vitamin B5. By eating a serve of grapes you may obtain 3.6 micrograms of folate which is important for pregnant women.


Anthocyanins, flavones, geraniol, linalol, nerol and tannins are the antioxidants which are present in grapes. These antioxidants are very much helpful to protect the body from cancers.
