Ayurveda and it’s importace in human life:

The word 'Ayurveda' is a Sanskrit word which basically consists of two words. The first word is 'Ayu', which means lifespan of an individual. The second word is 'Veda', which means knowledge or science. So the meaning of Ayurveda as a whole is the science which deals with life span of human being

Ayurveda has a great importance in our life. According to the mythology Ayurveda is the medicine of Gods .

What other sites are saying about ayurveda ?

Here I’m highlighting some parts from other ayurveda related sites:

The basic aim of Ayurveda is- SWASTHASYA SWASTHYA RAKSHANAM,ATURSYA VIKAR PRASHAMANAM.These two Sanskrit sentences explain the depth of methodology by which Ayurveda deals with the human life. The first aim of Ayurveda is to protect and maintain the health of the human being through out the entire life span. The second aim of this science is to cure the diseases which are developed in the body of a human, whom it defines as patient ('Rogy'), by offering numerous herbal remedies of cure in depth. There is a basic difference between Ayurveda and any other medical science. In Allopathy and other systems, treatment of a specific disease is given preference. The scope of Ayurveda is however much larger. Instead of correcting some organ function, Ayurveda attempts to build up a strong resistance. The individual is thus able to withstand any future ailment. (Source: )

The principles of Ayurveda state that nothing exists in isolation, so that everything you interact with, your diet, family, work or relationships, has an effect on your health and well being. One guiding principle of Ayurveda is that mind and body are connected and that the mind has a profound influence over our health and well-being. While conventional Western medicine is still grounded in the paradigm of mind-body separation, Ayurveda holds that health is more than the absence of disease; it is a dynamic state of balance and integration of body, mind, and spirit.

Ayurveda, a traditional holistic health care system, older than any other system of medicine, has been practiced in India for more than 5000 years. Ayurveda, recognized as alternative medicine now, represents the science of life and longevity originating in the Vedic traditions of India. Based on the principle of eternal life, this holistic health care system has a vast body of knowledge covering eight branches. Its major premise involves the symbiosis of mind, body and spirit. Any imbalance in this synthesis results in physical ailments. This ancient Indian medicine seeks to reestablish the harmony between the body and its habitat by creating the optimum health environment. Ayurveda's growth graph in the past decade has been impressive. Middle and upper class people who had shifted their allegiance completely to allopathy, are again trying out ayurveda and other therapies, after bad experiences with allopathy.
